A Jeddo man was injured in a Port Huron motorcycle accident on March 17, 2009.  Lloyd Alan Thompson was riding his motorcycle on Comstock Road near Graham Road when he lost control of the bike.  He hit a curb and was thrown off the motorcycle.  He was taken to Port Huron Hospital before being airlifted to Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.  He is in serious condition.

I am very sorry accidents like this happen.  I hope that Lloyd Thompson is able to recover fully from his injuries.

The Monroe County Sherrif’s Department is investigating a Monroe County Motorycle Accident that caused the death of Hollis W. Hurst, from Maybee, Michigan.  The accident occurred just before 8:00 p.m. when he was struck by a 1996 Pontiac driven by a 17 year old.  Fortunately, alchohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.  Mr. Hollis was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

A Michigan biker suffered serious injuries in a Clay Townhsip motorcycle accident.  The motorcyclist was traveling on M-29 when a woman driving a passenger car turned westbound into his lane causing the collision.   Initial police reports indicate the driver failed to yield the right of way to the motorcyclist.  Police are still investigating this accident.

Ms. Fahndrich was charged with the misdemeanor of attempted negligent homicide and pled to the offense.  In addition to the criminal charges, she may also face a civil lawsuit brought by family members of the bikers.  This would be a Michigan Wrongful Death lawsuit arising from the motorcycle accident.  Hopefully, Ms. Fahndrich had insurance on her vehicle so that the family can recover some compensation for their tragic loss.
