Organizer of Grand Rapids Bikestock in Motorcycle Accident

I read a story today in paper about the Organizer of Grand Rapids Bikestock in Motorcycle Accident.  Michael Trufflemire sustained a broken leg and ankle when a minivan turned in front of his bike and he was unable to stop before crashing into the side of the van, according to Trufflemire.

I am sorry that this accident happened and wish Mr. Trufflemire a fast recovery.  This is a typical example of bikers being injured on Michigan roadways due to negligent driving of a motorist.  The injuries suffered in these accidents are often catastrophic.

The injured biker may be entitled to Michigan No-Fault Insurance Benefits since the accident involved contact with another motor vehicle.  This would provide for payment of medical expenses, lost wages, attendant care services, and other benefits.  For a complete explanation of the rights of injured bikers in Michigan, you should request our FREE BOOK, “The Ultimate Michigan Motorcycle Accident Handbook.”

Berrien County Motorcycle Accident Fatality

I read tragic story about a Berrien County Motorcycle Accident Fatality that occurred July 19th in Niles.  According to the Michigan State Police, a 21-year-old man was killed on south 11th Street when his motorcycle allegedly slammed into the back of a car that stopped to avoid hitting a dog.

I am very sorry to hear that this tragic motorcycle accident happened. My condolences go out to the family and friends of the biker.

Because this motorcycle accident involved contact with another motor vehicle, the biker would have been eligible for Michigan No-Fault Insurance benefits.  These benefits provide for payment of medical expenses, lost wages, attendant care services, and other benefits.  Family members may also may be able to make a claim for Survivor Loss Benefits.  This can include payment of funeral expenses, lost wages, and loss of other services.

In addition to these claims, the surviving family members may be entitled to file a Michigan Wrongful Death Lawsuit against the negligent driver and the owner of the vehicle.  This may depend on the results of the police investigation and who the police attribute fault to in the accident.

For a complete explanation of the rights of injured bikers in Michigan, you should request our FREE BOOK, “The Ultimate Michigan Motorcycle Accident Handbook.” Furthermore, the surviving family members may have a claim against the driver of the motor vehicle for wrongful death of the bikers. Berrien County Fatal Motorcycle Crash

I read in the paper today about a Berrien County Fatal Motorcycle Crash that seriously injured a biker and killed his female passenger. Michigan State police believe that the bikers were travelling down Stevensville-Baroda Road in Lincoln Township when they allegedly collided with a deer that had jumped in front of them.

According to police, both biker and passenger were thrown from the bike. The male biker sustained serious non-life threatening injuries and the female passenger sustained critical injuries. Both bikers were taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, where the woman eventually died from her injuries. Police continue to investigate.

I am sorry that this accident happened.  I hope the biker has a complete and full recovery. I offer my most heart felt condolences family of the woman for their loss.

Hastings Motorcycle Accident Injures Two

I read a tragic story about a  Hastings man and his 15-year-old daughter were injured in a Hastings Motorcycle Accident on July 14th.  According to police, the bikers were allegedly riding on South Hanover street when a semi-truck allegedly turned in front of them and they struck the rear wheels.  Police continue to investigate the accident.

Both riders were hospitalized with serious injuries and they’re conditions are unknown at this time.  I  am sorry that this accident happened and wish them both a fast and full recovery.

Because the accident is still under investigation, there apparently has not been a determination of fault for the accident.  If the police determine that the truck driver was at fault, the accident victims may have possible claims against the truck driver and trucking company.

Additionally, both of the injured bikers may be entitled to Michigan No-Fault Insurance Benefits related to this accident.  This provides for payment of medical expenses, lost wages, and other expenses.  Their entitlement will depend on a number of factors, including their insurance policies and the specific facts of the accident.

Kent County Motorcycle Accident Fatality

A Courtland Township man was killed in a Kent County Motorcycle Accident on July 14th in Cedar Springs.  According to police, they allegedly found Robert Polovich  lying near his 1997 Harley-Davidson on South Main Street Tuesday Evening. Police state that Polovich was riding on South Main Street through a construction zone when he apparently lost control of his bike and crashed. He was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries but eventually died from those injuries. Police are still investigating the accident.

I am sorry that this accident happened.  I offer my most heart felt condolences to his family for their loss.

I  feel that it is important for those families of a person killed in a motorcycle accident to know their legal rights.  If the road that the biker was riding upon is shown to be unsafe and caused the accident, the family may have a legal claim against the government agency resposnible for the maintaining the roadway.    For a complete explanation of the rights of injured bikers in Michigan, you should request our FREE BOOK, “The Ultimate Michigan Motorcycle Accident Handbook.”
